Day 1: Arrival & Stone Town Exploration
Upon arrival at Zanzibar International Airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel in the heart of Stone Town. After check-in and a brief rest, begin your journey through the island’s history with a guided walking tour of Stone Town. Explore its winding alleyways, historic landmarks such as the House of Wonders, the Old Fort, and the Sultan’s Palace. Visit the former Slave Market site and learn about Zanzibar’s role in the East African slave trade. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Swahili dinner at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the ocean.

Day 2: Spice Farm & Maruhubi Palace Ruins
Start your day with a visit to a local spice farm, where you will see, smell, and taste exotic spices like cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon, which made Zanzibar famous as the “Spice Island.” Engage with local farmers and learn about the significance of the spice trade. After lunch, visit the ruins of Maruhubi Palace, once the grand residence of Sultan Barghash. Later, enjoy a relaxed evening by the beach or explore more of Stone Town at your leisure.

Day 3: Prison Island & Mangapwani Caves
After breakfast, embark on a boat trip to Prison Island (Changuu Island), known for its giant Aldabra tortoises and historical past as a detention center for slaves. Spend time exploring the island and snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters before returning to the mainland. In the afternoon, visit the Mangapwani Slave Caves, a hidden reminder of Zanzibar’s dark past in the slave trade. Conclude the day with a quiet sunset at a beachside café.

Day 4: Jozani Forest & Paje Village Tour
Head to Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, home to the rare and endemic Zanzibar Red Colobus Monkeys. Walk through the forest trails and mangrove boardwalk while learning about the island’s biodiversity. Later, proceed to Paje, a charming coastal village known for its local fishing traditions and kite-surfing culture. Engage with the villagers, visit a seaweed farm run by women, and enjoy some downtime at the beach.

Day 5: Mbweni Ruins & Dhow Sunset Cruise
Spend the morning exploring the lesser-known Mbweni Ruins, which once housed freed slave girls under missionary protection. Stroll through the beautiful gardens before heading back to Stone Town for lunch. The afternoon is free for last-minute shopping or relaxation. As the day winds down, embark on a traditional dhow cruise, sailing along Zanzibar’s coast while watching the sun dip into the horizon with a cool ocean breeze.

Day 6: Farewell & Departure
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel before checking out. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for a final stroll through Stone Town or a quick visit to the local markets for souvenirs. You will then be transferred to Zanzibar International Airport for your onward journey, carrying with you the rich memories of Zanzibar’s history, culture, and coastal beauty.
